Intensive Home-Based Treatment

The Intensive Home-Based Treatment (IHBT) team is a 24/7 alternative to an acute mental health admission to an inpatient unit. The team consists of nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, healthcare assistants and a medical team. Home-based treatment focuses on keeping people out of hospital by providing care in their own home or in an appropriate community setting.

The IHTB team mainly works between 8.00am and 8.30pm. Any support required outside these hours will be conducted by the wider Mental Health Response Service (MHRS).

All referrals to HBT are received and triaged by the MHRS.
