Adult Autism Services

The Humber Adult Autism Diagnosis Service provides assessment and diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) for people living in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Please note, patients referred to our service for an autism assessment will receive a notification every 12 weeks that they are on our waiting list. The notification will be by letter, email or text message, therefore, if you do not receive contact from us, it is likely you have not been accepted onto the waiting list. Please contact our service or your referrer for more information if you have not received any contact from us.

The Team

The team are partnered with the community organisation Matthew’s Hub, who provide pre and post diagnosis support for those either awaiting assessment or who have received a diagnosis of ASD.

HAADS is currently a diagnosis only service, which means we do not undertake any treatment but instead refer on to Matthew’s Hub or to other NHS services such as community mental health teams or Let’s Talk.

HAADS will support other teams to make their approaches ASD friendly and may also be able to provide training.

How to access the service

Any healthcare professional can make a referral by writing to us at the address below, including a description of the symptoms, your concerns and a short clinical history. You may use the AQ10 to structure your conversation with the patient and to check whether ASD  symptoms are present.

Unfortunately HAADS does not accept self-referrals.
