Crisis Pad Referrals

The Team

The Crisis Pad is a safe place for people aged 18 and above who are experiencing emotional crisis or distress in the Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire and who require a safe and calm environment to aid their recovery. Hull and East Yorkshire MIND is working in partnership with Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the Mental Health Crisis Intervention Team, to provide support for people in mental health crisis.

The Crisis Pad’s aims are to:

  • improve support for people experiencing a mental health crisis out of hours;
  • support crisis resolution through brief treatment interventions and techniques that will deliver self-care;
  • reduce the number of hospital admissions due to the lack of alternative support out of hours.

The Crisis Pad, based at St Andrew’s Place, Hull, is open every day between 6.00pm and 06.00am.

How to access the service

Any service internal or external to the Trust can enquire about referrals to the Crisis Pad through the Mental Health Crisis Intervention Team, which will carry out a robust clinical triage before making a decision to refer to the crisis pad.

If you are a patient wishing to visit the crisis pad, please contact the Mental Health Advice and Support Line on 0800 138 0990 to initiate a referral.
