Crisis Pad Referrals
The Crisis Pad is a safe place for people aged 18 and above who are experiencing emotional crisis or distress in the Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire and who require a safe and calm environment to aid their recovery. Humbercare is working in partnership with Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the Mental Health Response Service (MHRS), to provide support for people in mental health crisis.
The Crisis Pad’s aims are to:
- improve support for people experiencing a mental health crisis out of hours;
- support crisis resolution through brief treatment interventions and techniques that will deliver self-care;
- reduce the number of hospital admissions due to the lack of alternative support out of hours.
The Crisis Pad , based at St Andrew’s Place, Hull, is open every day between 6.00pm and 02.00am.
How to access the service
Any service internal or external to the Trust can enquire about referrals to the Crisis Pad through the MHRS, which will carry out a robust clinical triage before making a decision to refer to the crisis pad.
