After working in the NHS for a number of years, and in my current role as Portfolio Holder for Adults Services and Public Health, I think I can use the skills and knowledge I have picked up along the way to help make a difference to how local healthcare services are provided.
I have been a Councillor for 14 years. I was elected to represent Drypool Ward in January 2009. During that time I have served on a number of Scrutiny commissions, the Health and Wellbeing Board, Hull and Goole Port Health Authority, Humberside Combined Fire Authority and the Licensing Committee. In May 2022 I was appointed as Cabinet Member responsible for Adults Services and Public Health.

I am the Humberside Fire and Rescue Area Manager for Prevention, Protection, Fleet and Estate. I began my fire and rescue service career in 2006 at Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service, working across multiple departments and roles. Before joining Humberside I was seconded to the local LRF as Chair of the Tactical Coordination Group and I also spent some time as an Inspector for His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS).
