The views of Trust members are represented by our Council of Governors. We have 25 Governors made up of: 14 Public Governors; 6 for the East Riding of Yorkshire, 4 for Hull, one for the Yorkshire and Humber region, 2 Service User and Carer Governors and 1 Governor for Whitby. There are also 6 Nominated Governors and 5 Staff Governors. More than half of the Council of Governors are elected by local people. Nominated Governors include representatives of local partnership organisations.
Governors give up their time voluntarily and do not ’run the Trust’. The Trust is run by the Board of Directors, but the Governors can influence their decisions and represent the views of our members.
Public Governors are elected by our members to work as part of our Council of Governors. We use an external agency to run our elections for us to ensure that the process remains totally impartial. All nominations and ballot papers are handled by the external agency who also send out all the relevant information to members to enable them to vote.
You are unable to vote or stand for election if you are not a member of the Trust. To become a member, please fill in our online form or telephone 01482 389132 or write to us at Membership Office, Freepost RLZB-RKZB-AJSJ, Trust Headquarters, Willerby Hill, Beverley Road, Willerby, HU10 6ED
