Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust holds free Annual Research Conference, ‘Developing a City of Research IV’ in Hull, on 13th May 2020.

For the fourth year running, the Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust will host their Annual Research Conference at the Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel in Willerby.

The conference is set to explore local, national and international research that the Trust in involved in, the potential for future collaborations and new areas of research. It will also demonstrate the benefits of research for our community and encourage more health care professionals to offer opportunities for people to become involved in research studies.

In addition, the conference date has been chosen in accordance with the International Clinical Trials Day, the NIHR ‘Be a Part of Research’ campaign and national awareness weeks for mental health and dementia. This year is also Year of the Nurse and Midwife, many of whom play a key role in research.

Cathryn Hart, Assistant Director of Research and Development, Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, said:

“We are passionate about research in our Trust and this conference gives us the chance to demonstrate to our wider stakeholders why it’s so important. It’s an opportunity for us to share some of the learning from studies we’ve been involved in, to show the benefits for our community and to inspire others by showcasing examples of how involvement in research really does change lives.”

The speaker line up for the event is an impressive one, including Prof Tim Kendall, Mental Health National Clinical Director for NHS England and NHS Improvement, and Prof Anthony Avery, Professor of Primary Care, University of Nottingham, alongside local clinicians, academics and people with lived experience of health conditions who have taken part in research.
