Residents invited to comment on proposed Willerby site redevelopment plans
Published: 04 August 2026
The local community and residents will have the opportunity to view and comment on proposed redevelopment plans for Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust's Willerby site at a public consultation event on 24 August 2026. The drop in event will run from 3pm to 7pm at the Trust’s Lecture Theatre in Willerby, HU10 6FE.
The proposals being presented at the event form part of the Trust's long-term Adult Mental Health Inpatient Redevelopment Programme, which aims to consider options for modernising mental health inpatient facilities across Hull and East Yorkshire.
The Trust is currently preparing a planning application for the site. This consultation event will give local people an opportunity to view the emerging proposals, ask questions and provide feedback before the application is finalised and submitted for permissions.
The plans being consulted on relate to the redevelopment of the Willerby site, including future building phases, access arrangements, parking, landscaping and infrastructure. Feedback received will help inform the final planning application.
It is important to note that the consultation is about redevelopment proposals for the site and not about changes to mental health services. Any future proposals to relocate services would be considered separately through the NHS's formal service change process, including public engagement and consultation where required.
Existing inpatient services will continue to operate throughout the planning process and any future construction programme, with no impact on the care currently provided to patients.
