Trust welcomes new Non-Executive Director

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to welcome a new Non-Executive Director, Dean Royles.

Voted the UK’s Most Influential HR Practitioner for three consecutive years, the Trust is excited to welcome the new Non-Executive Director. Dean Royles joins the Trust today (Monday, 2 September 2019) and replaces Paula Bee, who left the Trust on Friday 30 August.

Dean has worked at board level in large organisations for almost 20 years and is currently the President of the Healthcare People Management Association. He previously held the position of Chief Executive of NHS Employers before becoming the Executive Director of HR and OD at Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust and is a highly regarded, leading figure within the NHS.

Dean’s other roles have included; Director of Workforce and Education at NHS North West and Deputy Director of Workforce for the NHS in England at the Department of Health. Dean has also previously been the Chair of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Chair of Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, Sharon Mays said: “We are very much looking forward to Dean joining the Trust. He brings with him a vast amount of knowledge and experience from both the private sector and within the NHS, which I am sure will be of great benefit to the board”.

Dean has an MSc in Human Resources, is a member of Sheffield Business School’s Advisory Board and has an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Bradford for his contribution to the management of health services.
