Some of our amazing Mill View Court staff have recently completed a 33km sponsored walk in order to raise money to fund a mural for their service’s garden and activity room area, and to brighten up the ward atmosphere for both staff and patients.

The walk itself saw the staff starting their journey at Trust HQ and then visiting all the Adult Mental Health Inpatient Units across the city of Hull.

The Department of Health have reported that the use of art can ease anxiety and stress for both patients and care staff, it has also been found to boost morale and improve communication between service users and staff. The team at Mill View Court are hopeful that a colourful addition to the walls will create a positive and peaceful space for patients to spend time during their recovery journey.

The team have done a fantastic job and already raised just over £1,000, although this is slightly short on their target so anyone who is able to help them reach their goal please do visit their GoFundMe page and donate if you can - Fundraiser by Mill View Court : Mill View Court- Walking for Wellbeing (gofundme.com)
