New Associate Non-Executive Director Appointed to Trust Board

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Associate Non-Executive Director, Mr Hanif Malik OBE.

Hanif will take on the post on 1 July 2021, for an initial period of two years.  

Hanif has over 20 years’ experience operating at a senior level in the not for profit and public sectors. He is currently Director of a Charitable Foundation having held previous roles as Chief Executive of a leading Community organisation in Leeds and Chief Operating Officer of an International Humanitarian Charity.

His support for communities at a local, regional and national level was recognised in 2014 with an Honorary Doctorate from Leeds Beckett University for ‘services to the public’ and an OBE for ‘Services to the Community’ in 2016.

Hanif said: “I am proud and delighted to take up the role of Associate Non-Executive Director.

As an advocate for tacking health inequalities I was really drawn to approach of the Trust and how they listen and embrace carer and user involvement in decision making. I look forward to building on this excellent foundation and understanding how I can support our staff as we work together to provide the best quality healthcare for the communities of Hull, East Yorkshire and North Yorkshire.

I also want to contribute in a way that embraces the diversity of region in its broadest sense to ensure the decisions that we take acknowledge different backgrounds and experiences.”
