Help Make Christmas Extra Special for our Patients
Published: 05 November 2026
Each Christmas over 200 patients will spend Christmas in one of our inpatient mental health units or community wards.
That’s why our Trust’s Charity Health Stars is running their annual Christmas Gift Appeal to ensure that each patient has a gift to open on Christmas Day.
Anita Green, Health Stars manager, said: "Christmas can be a difficult time for many people, particularly those who are receiving treatment in hospital and are away from their usual support networks. For some, it can be a time when feelings of loneliness and isolation feel even more pronounced.
"A gift may seem like a small gesture, but it can help someone feel remembered and connected to their community. We're hoping the community will once again get behind the appeal and help us bring some festive cheer to patients this Christmas."
Last year's appeal was a huge success thanks to our incredible supporters. We're hoping to make the same difference again this year, and we'd love your support.
If you are able to donate a small item such as a pair of fluffy socks, a face mask, chocolates, or colouring pens or a puzzle book, it could bring a smile to someone spending Christmas away from home.
