Following the fire within the grounds of Malton Hospital, outpatient clinics have now reopened.
Malton Urgent Treatment Centre has also reopened.
Patients with planned appointments will be contacted with access information.
The Fitzwilliam Ward at Malton Hospital remains closed, and our teams are working to ensure that it reopens as soon as possible.
As a precaution, all patients, visitors and colleagues were safely evacuated from the hospital. There have been no reports of any injuries.
Working closely with partner agencies, all evacuated patients have been safely relocated until it is safe to return to the site. Their families and carers have been contacted individually to inform them.
The safety of our patients, visitors and colleagues remains our absolute priority. We would like to thank our staff, the emergency services and partner organisations for their swift response and support.
Michele Moran, Chief Executive of Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, has written an open letter in acknowledgement and thanks to all who assisted during the evacuation. Read the open letter here.
Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust provides care on Fitzwilliam Ward at the hospital. The hospital site is managed by York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
