On Wednesday 1 July, Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust’s Recruitment Team held an event inviting prospective staff to learn more about working for the Trust and the job opportunities available in Whitby.

The event attracted huge interest, with some attendees travelling from outside the area to explore the opportunities of working in Whitby Hospital. During the event the teams spoke to over 50 applicants.

The Recruitment event was held at Memorial Ward, Whitby Community Hospital, inviting applications for Health Care Assistants and Registered Nurses to join the team. Whitby Hospital’s Memorial Ward supports patients by providing high-quality care throughout their recovery journey, helping them regain independence and achieve their goals.

The ward provides rehabilitation care for patients following acute illness or surgery, as well as providing palliative and end-of-life care, focusing on symptom control, care planning and supporting patients and their families with dignity and compassion.

Registered Nurses will provide clinical leadership, coordinate care plans and support patients and families throughout their rehabilitation stay. Health Care Assistants play a vital role in delivering hands-on care, supporting mobility, personal care and daily activities while promoting patient independence.

There were also opportunities to work within the Community Teams, delivering care to patients in their own homes, or be part of the Therapy and Rehabilitation Service.

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust has opportunities across a broad range of locations and services with their current job opportunities listed on the Join Humber webpage - https://join.humber.nhs.uk/
