Hull Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) from Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust are working in Family Hubs over the summer to increase family engagement and raise awareness of mental health through their Emotional Wellbeing Drop Ins events.

Bookable through Eventbrite, the Hull Mental Health Support Team events will be offering fun, creative activities at Family Hub locations across the city to help children and their families connect and unwind together.

The summer holidays are a perfect opportunity for the Mental Health Support Team to engage with children and families, build connections with local communities and raise important awareness of mental health.

Nicola Willerton, Education Mental Health Practitioner, said: “Mental Health Support Teams work throughout the year to support children, young people and their families, delivering evidence-based interventions that promote positive mental health and wellbeing. Although much of our work takes place within schools, the summer holidays present an important opportunity to strengthen our connections with the wider community. By engaging with families outside of term time, we can raise awareness of the support available, encourage conversations around mental health, and ensure that children and young people continue to access help when they need it.”

The sessions are available at a range of Family Hub locations including the following:

Parks Family Hub (Courtway Rd, Hull HU6 9TA): Tuesday 21 July, 1pm-3pm

The Acorns Family Hub (Nestor Grove, Hull HU9 4DB): Tuesday 28 July, 1pm-3pm
