Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust Achieves BCS Platinum Approved Organisation Status

Published: 20 July 2026

We are proud to announce that our Trust has been recognised as a BCS Platinum Approved Organisation by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.

The BCS Platinum Approved Organisation status is the highest tier of corporate recognition awarded by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. It is given to employers and institutions that prove a deep, ongoing commitment to professional standards, ethical IT practice and the continuous career development of their digital and data staff.

The recognition is reflective of our Trust's commitment to digital excellence while delivering secure, high-quality services that support outstanding patient care. It also recognises the expertise of our Trust's BeDigital team, whose work underpins clinical and corporate services across the organisation.

As healthcare continues to become increasingly digital, having highly skilled and professionally recognised teams is essential. Achieving Platinum Approved Organisation status demonstrates that our Trust meets the rigorous standards set by BCS and is committed to maintaining the highest levels of professionalism, ethical practice and technical excellence.

The accreditation recognises our Trust's commitment to maintaining robust technical standards, building secure and interoperable systems while embracing innovation that benefits colleagues, patients and the wider communities it serves.

Lee Rickles, Chief Information Officer at our Trust said, “I am incredibly proud that Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust has officially been recognised as a BCS Platinum Approved Organisation. Achieving the highest tier of accreditation is not just a badge of honour; it is a testament to the unwavering commitment, expertise and professionalism of our incredible BeDigital team.

This milestone belongs entirely to our talented staff. Your dedication to making "IT good for society" directly impacts our clinicians and, most importantly, the patients we serve every single day. Thank you for your hard work, your passion for professionalism and your constant drive to raise the bar.”

A key part of securing Platinum status has been our Trust's investment in its people. Through a strong culture of continuous professional development, colleagues are supported to develop their skills, gain professional registration and pursue recognised career pathways. This commitment ensures the BeDigital workforce remains equipped to meet the changing needs of the NHS while helping shape the future of digital healthcare.

Our Trust looks forward to continuing its partnership with BCS, sharing best practice, supporting communities of practice and championing professional excellence across health and social care.
