Inspire Family Day Service Leaflet September 2026

Published: 22 Oct 2026

The Inspire Family Day Service supports children and young people who are struggling with their mental health and might otherwise need to go into hospital.

We offer intensive help to you and the people who care about you, such as your family, carers, or support workers. We work with children who reside across Hull, East Riding, and North East Lincolnshire.

Many young people who come to us are already getting help from CAMHS but need more intensive support. We work closely with services like the CAMHS Crisis Team, Intensive Home Treatment Team, as well as other community CAMHS teams. We help you continue your care while giving you extra support. This can include assessments, therapy, and education. We are a family-focused service, and we will spend a lot of time working with the people who look after you or are important in your life.

Who will be involved in your care

Our team includes different types of mental health professionals such as clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, a family therapist, social workers, healthcare assistants, and other trained mental health staff.

How to access us

You need to be referred by a CAMHS team that you are already working with. Your current worker, either in the community or in hospital, will talk to you about whether a referral to the day service would be helpful.

How we will support you

When you first join the service, we will work with you and the adults around you to create a care plan that focuses on what will help you most. Most young people come to the day service a few days each week for about 12 weeks. During this time, we will usually carry out an assessment to better understand your situation and what support you need to make things better.

After this, we will agree together on a plan that may include different types of support. This could be psychology, occupational therapy, group sessions, family sessions, or meetings with other professionals.

After the 12 weeks, we will slowly help you move back to your local CAMHS team at a pace that feels right for you. We may stay involved in your support for up to a year offering outreach. We know it is important to support your family or carers too. As well as joint sessions with you, your family or carers may also have some sessions on their own so that everyone feels supported.

Why we work this way?

  • Regular, flexible, and coordinated support can help prevent hospital admissions and support earlier discharge from hospital.
  • We use a trauma-informed approach and the ARC model (Attachment, Regulation and Competency) to help you feel safe and ensure care is tailored to your needs.
  • We work closely with families and other important adults, involving them throughout care to improve understanding, support, and outcomes.

How you can get in touch with us

We usually see young people from Monday to Friday, between 9am and 5pm, but we try to be flexible to fit around your needs and your family’s needs where possible. You can find our contact details below. If you need urgent out of hours support, please contact CAMHS Crisis.
