Update on Transition of GP Services in East Riding of Yorkshire
Published: 07 August 2025

In May, Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust shared plans to transfer GP services at Market Weighton Practice, King Street Medical Centre in Cottingham, and Humber Primary Care in Bridlington to new providers.
This change is happening as part of national and Humber & North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) work to deliver primary care on a larger scale to maximise the services for patients and communities.
We want to reassure patients that there is nothing you need to do right now. Discussions with new providers are still taking place, and we’re working carefully to make sure everything goes smoothly.
The next step is for the Trust and the new providers to agree a formal outline of the transfer. This is in progress and as soon as this is complete, we’ll let patients and staff know who the new providers will be.
Importantly, all practices will stay in their current locations, and patients will automatically move to the new provider. You’ll receive a letter with full details, including who the new provider is and your options moving forward.
We’re committed to keeping you informed throughout this process and making the transition as smooth as possible.
