Trust Christmas Trees in Beverley Minster
Published: 12 December 2025
This year Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust’s East Riding 0-19 team are hosting a beautifully decorated Christmas Tree at the annual Beverley Minster Christmas Tree Festival. Each December, Beverley Minster opens its doors to visitors showcasing trees decorated by multiple organisations and people. This year’s festival is showcasing over 150 beautifully decorated trees and is open until 14th December for visitors to view the collection.
The East Riding 0-19 team have decorated a tree this year highlighting the importance of reading for child development. As a service dedicated to supporting children and young people from birth through adolescence, they wanted a tree to reflect the diversity of age groups they work with - health visitors, family nurses, school nurses, public health nurses and health and development practitioners.
This year, they chose the theme of reading because of the vital role it plays in school readiness and lifelong learning. Reading and sharing books with children from an early age helps build language skills, imagination, and emotional development, key foundations for success in school and beyond.
The service shared, “To make our tree truly special, our health and development practitioners have hand-crafted decorations using pictures and text from beloved children’s books, creating a vibrant and eye-catching display. We’ve also included baubles with QR codes, giving families access to stories in multiple languages, ensuring inclusivity for all members of our community. We are delighted to incorporate resources from BookTrust, a leading charity that promotes reading for pleasure. By encouraging families to enjoy books together, we aim to strengthen bonds, nurture curiosity, and support every child’s journey toward school readiness.”
