Shared Care Record Summit attracts a crowd at Rewired 2026
Published: 26 March 2026
Our Interweave team at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust took over the Patient Engagement stage at Rewired 2026 yesterday afternoon. Around 200 attendees flocked to the stage to enjoy what our speakers had to say on topics such as the focus on neighbourhood care, convergence and learnings for the future of shared care records.
The Shared Care Record Summit formed a part of the wider Digital Health Rewired 2026 programme, which took place over two days this March. It was the first time the Summit was made part of this annual event, and we thank Rewired for the opportunity to bring it to this vast event.
This edition of the Summit attracted people working to connect care and making patient information more accessible. Throughout the sessions, our attendees were given the opportunity to learn more about Shared Care Records and identify how they’re essential for the future of joined up care.
The first session looked at ‘Beyond the Hospital Walls: Scaling Shared Care for Neighbourhoods’. This focused on how, when looking towards a Single Patient Record (SPR), Shared Care Records remain the vital engine for neighbourhood-level care. The lively conversation outlined how to bridge the gap between clinical data silos and the diverse organisations that deliver care in the community. Suzi Hinman, Information Governance (IG) Advisor from Interweave, shared her perspective on how data sharing and guidance needs to be an interactive process that collaboratively allows partners within shared care record systems to obtain the assurances they need and move forwards in a positive direction.
This was followed by the second session entitled, ‘Making Sense of it All: Options for Convergence’ which analysed the various options for a single source of truth and the benefits that could represent. The discussion included a valuable social care perspective, with speakers highlighting the immense potential of social care data to enhance shared care records and improve outcomes across the system. With a workforce that rivals that of the NHS, social care supports people over the long term and becomes a part of their everyday lives, making the quality of care provided incredibly important.
The final session included feedback from the INTEROPen and NHS England IPS Record Sharing Hackathon. Discussing what happened, the whys and the learnings, the group could determine what happens next and capitalise on how it can support going forward.
Throughout the event, our panel speakers conveyed a strong sense of pride in working within the shared care records space and in being part of the Summit event at Rewired. They evidenced a clear passion for the topic, which led to a valuable exchange of perspectives with fellow panellists and a high-level of engagement with the audience.
What sets the Shared Care Record Summit apart is its openness in addressing challenges head-on, using the event as a platform to connect and collaborate while ultimately driving progress. By sharing experiences across regions and learning from one another, it created a collective focus on moving the agenda forward.
