26 Graduates from the 2024-25 Humber NHS Cadets Programme!
Published: 30 April 2025

We’re thrilled to share that 26 young people successfully graduated our 2024-25 Humber NHS Cadets Programme!
The Humber NHS Cadet Programme, funded by NHS England and delivered in partnership with St John Ambulance, offers young people aged 14–18 a fantastic opportunity to explore careers in the NHS. Through a mix of hands-on experiences, employability skills development, and vital life-saving first aid training, the programme helps inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.
This year, we were proud to see so many of our own staff involved—from our Work Experience Team to our Children’s Occupational Therapy Team. Their support has been invaluable in showcasing the wide range of roles available within the NHS and helping young people see a future for themselves within our organisation.
At the graduation event, the cadets celebrated their achievements and shared their ambitions for the future. We’re proud to share that two cadets are going on to study medicine, one hopes to become a paramedic, and another is pursuing an NHS apprenticeship. It’s incredibly rewarding to see how this programme is shaping futures and opening doors for cadets.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to launch the third round of the programme in Summer 2025. We are keen that young people accessing our services have the opportunity to participate in this amazing programme, so please look out for our promotional materials over the coming weeks and/or contact hnf-tr.hyag@nhs.net for further information or if you/your team would like to involved and support this inspiring initiative.
