We’re asking for community input this Social Prescribing Day

Published: 07 March 2022 to 31 December 2098

Social Prescribing Day falls on 10th March this year and is an awareness event aiming to encourage change. To shift the power to local people and to foster collaboration to improve our communities as a whole.

In the East Riding, you can connect with local Social Prescribers as part of our Your Health Lifestyle and Prevention service.

Social Prescribers refer people into such services to give people an opportunity to focus on what matters to them, and to take a holistic approach to their health and wellbeing. They connect people to community groups and statutory services for both practice and emotional support.

The Your Health service covers the whole of the East Riding of Yorkshire, and they’re currently asking those in the local community to get involved in a series of events in March 2022.

These events will help people to recognise the avenues of support available to them and their loved ones and encourage communities to actively engage with their local NHS services.

You can find details of these events below:

Our broader Your Health service is part of a larger and unique prevention, recovery and wellbeing team, which aims to improve the health, wellbeing, lifestyle, social and health inequalities across the communities they serve.

It is the hope of this team that they can provide a much-needed opportunity for East Riding residents to prioritise their health and wellbeing, particularly after a challenging couple of years.

The team are understanding of individual circumstances, and tailor their support to the individual, providing support on a whole range of topics such as employment, finances, carers, emotional wellbeing, welfare, and many other social issues.
