Children's Mental Health Week 2022

Published: 07 February 2022 to 31 December 2098

Place2Be launched the first ever Children’s Mental Health Week in 2015 to shine a spotlight on the importance of children and young people’s mental health.

This year, Children’s Mental Health Week is running from 7 – 13 February 2022 and the theme is ‘Growing Together’.

Growing Together

Growing Together is about growing emotionally and finding ways to help each other grow. Challenges and setbacks can help us to grow and adapt and trying new things can help us to move beyond our comfort zone into a new realm of possibility and potential. However, emotional growth is often a gradual process that happens over time, and sometimes we might feel a bit ‘stuck’.

For Children's Mental Health Week 2022, we will be encouraging children (and adults) to consider how they have grown and how they can help others to grow.

Express Yourself

In addition to the national theme, here at Humber we have devised a sub-focus of our own, which is ‘Express Yourself’.

As part of this campaign, we are asking young people across region to get involved by finding new ways to express their personality, hobbies and creativity.

This could be through their clothing, crafts or through learning a new skill like drawing or baking.

To get involved, it would be great to see your pictures of how the young person in your life has chosen to show off their creativity this Children’s Mental Health Week.

With the appropriate permission, you can share these photos with us on social media, by tagging us @HumberNHSFT.

In return, we are running a competition. The young person who brings the biggest smile to our faces will be sent their very own at home Baking Kit from the Little Cooks co. To inspire them to keep expressing themselves in creative ways.

This competition and prize is run courtesy of our Trust Charity, Health Stars, who will get in touch with the winner on Monday 14th February.
