Allied Health Professionals Day

Published: 14 October 2021 to 31 December 2098

In celebration of National AHP Day on 14 October, we have organised an information-packed Allied Health Professionals Week, which will run through to 22nd Oct.

As part of this week, we are hosting a number of virtual events and sharing content to introduce you to our AHPs and what they do.

What is an Allied Health Professional?

An Allied Health Professional (AHP) is someone who works in healthcare. They provide a range of diagnostic, technical, therapeutic and support services in fields ranging from medicine, to pharmacy and nursing.

What kind of roles does this include?

There are 14 core Allied Health Professions:

1. Art Therapists

3. Music therapists

4. Chiropodists/podiatrists

5. Dietitians

6. Occupational therapists

7. Operating Department Practitioners

8. Orthoptists

9. Osteopaths

10. Paramedics

11. Physiotherapists

12. Prosthetists and Orthotists

We have a wonderful, wide-ranging group of AHPs at Humber and we’re proud of the great work they achieve every day.
