Trust shows improvement across all key themes in National Staff Survey

The results of the NHS Staff Survey have been published today (11th March).  We are pleased that our Trust has shown improvement over all of our ten key themes and significant improvement against 68% of questions answered compared to 2019.

The independently organised survey was carried out between October and November 2020 across 300 NHS organisations. This year the staff survey not only helped to measure and understand the experience of working in the NHS but also provides a unique opportunity to demonstrate the impact that the Covid-19 pandemic has had on staff experience.

Over 1,200 staff (43%) took part in the survey which is used by NHS organisations and regulators such as the Care Quality Commission (CQC), to help improve staff and patient experience and ensure safety and quality standards. The survey also helps us to understand what it is like to work at our Trust and improve our employee experience.

The results identify 77 areas of strength including:

We continue to see improvements to scores linked to our work on the Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) and Workforce Disability Equality Standard (WDES) helping meet our vision of being a fully inclusive workplace.

The results also help us to identify areas of focus for the next year. We will work with our teams to understand these results and develop plans to continue to build on improvements that have already been made.
