How do I get involved?

As a Trust we are committed to learning from patient and carer experiences. We have created experience and engagement forums as follows:

  • Patient and Carer Experience and Engagement forum to provide a public voice by bringing lived experiences and individual perspectives.
  • Widening Participation Experience forum  to build stronger relationships and work in partnership with third sector, voluntary sector, public sector, commissioners and hard to reach groups who will provide a voice for the communities and groups thy serve.
  • Staff Champion Experience forum to share best practice and provide a voice of experience on behalf of their clinical networks. This forum will also review survey findings and complaints to identify key themes coming through which will help inform the Patient Experience Team's work plan.

Additional forums will be implemented shortly for Whitby Community Services and Scarborough and Ryedale (from May 2018).

A patient and carer experience network has been developed to include individuals who have expressed an interest in sharing their experiences in a particular service area; this can be a member of staff, patient, carer or an organisation. From time to time individuals will be given the opportunity to participate in events or workshops aligned to their area of interest.

If you would like to participate in a forum or join our network, please contact the Patient Experience team at or on 01482 389167.
