Chaplaincy Service

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust has a dedicated Senior Chaplain who provides a range of spiritual and pastoral care needs to service users, carers and staff. They have knowledge of a range of religious faiths and practices and support individuals on a variety of issues, which are complex and multi-cultural.

Losing a loved one can feel overwhelming, especially if the death was sudden, untimely and unexpected.  To support you we have put together the following information to help you deal with the temporary changes to bereavement practices that have been made due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our booklet also includes information to help you deal with the practical arrangements as well as advice and support  for coping with bereavement and grief

Bereavement Package

bereavement package has been developed to support the bereaved. The package has been developed to capture the quality of care and support from our services and currently focuses on adults in receipt of our physical health services. We have introduced a phased approach including, community services teams in Pocklington and Whitby, Whitby Community Hospital, Scarborough & Ryedale Community Services, Fitzwilliam Ward in Malton and our eight GP Practices.

The bereavement package consists of a folder including:

  • A bereavement card
  • An informative bereavement booklet
  • A bespoke leaflet highlighting local services

 The Trust aims to roll out the package to other services in the future.
