Quality Improvement

The Trust has introduced a Quality Improvement Approach which outlines i’s journey to fully embed a culture of Quality Improvement.

We currently use the following tools;

  • The Model for Improvement (PDSA) which is used by the majority of small projects, It offers a framework to develop, test and implement changes by testing ideas to see which do and which don’t work.

  • Always Events – based on the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), the framework supports the organization to identify, develop, and achieve improvement centered on around the patient and family.
  •  Additional expertise is also available to large projects from our QSIR Practitioners and Teaching Faculty Associates, and other specialised staff across the Trust including process mapping, data analysis, fishbone diagrams, action plans, etc.

The use of Quality Improvement Charters enables the Trust to track what work is taking place and learn the lessons for future projects with the goal of celebrating all the fantastic work which is being undertaken.
