Memorial Ward

Memorial Ward is located within Whitby Community Hospital on Level 3. Our purpose is to provide a service which maximises you ability to live as independently as possible and gets you back to the most appropriate setting when it is safe to do so. The ward can also provide palliative care and symptom management and end of life care for those for whom it is their preferred place of care.

We are a multidisciplinary team including nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, advanced clinical practitioners, doctors, health care support workers, ward clerks, pharmacists, dietitians and speech and language therapists.

Visiting times

2 pm  - 4 pm

6 pm – 7 pm

Arrangements can be made with the Nurse in Charge of the ward to visit at other times for those patients receiving End of Life care and in other special circumstances.

A hand held phone is available for patients to take incoming calls from friends or relatives when this is not in use by other patients.

PARKING:  A Visitors car park is available at no charge. The car Park is monitored by a camera system that is mot managed by the Trust so you will need to enter your vehicle details on the Touch Screen provided at the Hospital Entrance of just before the Ward Entrance. This is in order to avoid a fine for inappropriate use of the Car Parking facilities.
