Addictions services

Two men talking outside

Humber NHS Foundation Trust has been involved in the delivery of substance misuse services since the 1980s. We are currently commissioned to deliver a variety of addiction services across a number of strategic partnership areas. The services have been developed and managed by a senior management team who have been in post a significant number of years.  Clinical leadership is provided through a Clinical Director (consultant psychiatrist), a Consultant Nurse (Research Fellow) a Clinical Nurse Specialist and Service Manager.

In 2005 the East Riding Partnership (ERP) was formed through a formal partnership agreement between the Trust and The Alcohol and Drug Service (ADS). The ERP works closely with its commissioners and has developed into one of the leading service providers in the Yorkshire and Humber region. This service consistently reports high levels of performance and is ranked as the most successful in terms of patient outcomes in Yorkshire and Humber and in the top 25% of services nationally.

Since 2002 the Addiction Services have developed a portfolio of research through collaborations with universities, NHS Trusts and third sector providers. We have developed a Research Team that is focussed on the development of clinical interventions and services. We are currently involved in research funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC) and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). Experts from our services have been recruited to NICE Alcohol Use Disorders guideline development group and the Department of Health Payment by Results Group for Alcohol Services.
