Get Involved

The NHS is turning 70 this year and what better way to celebrate one of the nation’s most loved institutions than with a cup of tea?

But this will be more than just a regular brew. On and around 5 July, people across the region will get together to raise a cuppa to our beloved NHS and raise funds for Health Stars, our Trust charity.

Health Stars works in partnership with the Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust to enhance the community and mental health services provided to over 700,000 people living in our service area.

You can invite your friends round for a cuppa, brew up for your family, crack open the staff room tea bags, or commandeer the local village hall.

Whatever you want to do, Health Stars is here to help.

Register online for your party pack here > and email for any fund-raising materials.

Give the NHS a birthday present!

The NHS plays an important role in our lives. It is there for us in good times and bad, and since its launch it has relied on the public for support.

As the service turns 70, we are reminding people about the many ways they can help and support the NHS:

  • Volunteer
  • Take care of yourself
  • Make a pledge to use NHS services wisely
  • Get involved in research projects
  • Work for the NHS
  • Support our NHS charity Health Stars

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust Celebrations

Staff, patients and members of the public are taking part in the festivities throughout 2018. The celebrations will peak on 5 July with the huge Health Expo taking place at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel in Hull, and celebratory tea parties across our Trust sites. See our 'Events' page on the right for further information.

Royal Mint NHS 10p #coinhunt

As the NHS turns 70 this year the Royal Mint has launched an NHS 10p coin to mark the milestone.

The coin forms part of an A to Z of ‘quintessential Britain’ with the world famous NHS representing the letter ‘N’. Other coins include ‘B’ for Bond, ‘S’ for Stonehenge and ‘T’ for Tea.

The NHS 10p coin is a perfect way to celebrate the birthday, reminding people about the vital role the service plays and recognising the extraordinary NHS staff who are always there to greet, advise and provide care.

Have you found an NHS 10p coin yet?

Why not take a picture and share it via social media using the hashtags #NHS70 and #coinhunt?
