The Chair of Humber NHS Foundation Trust has started her second three-year term after being re-appointed by the Trust's governors.

Sharon Mays was first appointed as Chair in September 2014 and, before that, served the Trust as a governor, non-executive director, deputy chairman and senior independent director. She will hold the role of Chair until September 2020.

Michele Moran, the Trust’s Chief Executive, said: “I’m delighted the governors have asked Sharon to serve as Chair for a second three-year term.

“Their support is a fitting tribute to the hard work, loyalty and commitment she has shown not just in the past three years, but since she joined the Board in 2011.

“I’m looking forward to continuing our work together to deliver the outstanding services our patients, families, carers, communities and regulator expect and deserve.”

Mrs Mays is a former lawyer and before joining the Trust was a non-executive director of East Riding of Yorkshire Primary Care Trust.

She said: “I’m really pleased to have secured the governors’ support to serve another term.

“I’m looking forward to continuing to work with them and the Board as we continue to expand and improve our services.”
