Burst water main prompts temporary change of base for East Riding Contact Point team
09 January 2018

The Trust’s East Riding Contact Point service has moved temporarily to Rivendell House, in Driffield, after a burst water pipe prompted the closure of staff’s Beverley base.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council, which owns the Coltman Avenue base, closed it after supplies were cut when a main ruptured in Flemingate, one of Beverley’s key arterial roads, overnight.

Nikki Titchener, East Riding CAMHS Service Manager, said: “The council has decided to close the building fully so we have arranged for our remaining staff to move to Rivendell. We have moved things around at Rivendell to ensure they can work together and maintain their workload.

“We have asked them to try to find alternative rooms were possible so that appointments are not being cancelled. This will prove difficult but all efforts are being made to make sure no patient is disadvantaged.”

Staff need the additional space so they can complete urgent assessments.

Calls to Contact Point’s phone number – 01482 303810 – are being diverted temporarily to Rivendell House.

Rivendell House, in Union Street, Driffield, can be contacted on 01377 208280.

Normal service will be resumed tomorrow (Tues 10 Jan).
