Being treated at home instead of in hospital made it easier for me to stay in touch with my family and friends
We hold a number of membership events throughout the year focussing on the services we provide.
Annual Members' Meeting (AMM)
This year our Annual Members’ Meeting, previously known as the Annual General Meeting, is taking place on Thursday 20 September from 12.30 to 4.30pm at the Country Park Inn, Hessle. All members and public are invited to attend.
This is a chance for you to find out about the work our Trust has being doing over the past year to improve services for the people of Hull and the East Riding. There will be presentations from Chief Executive Dave Snowdon, Trust Chairman Jane Fenwick, Director of Finance Mark Brooks and one of our Governors.
The Annual Members’ Meeting will also include our Staff Awards and Unsung Heroes event. The Staff Awards celebrate the innovative and dedicated work done by the people who work at Humber NHS Foundation Trust and winning teams are rewarded with a trophy and certificate. Unsung Heroes are nominated by colleagues as having gone beyond the call of duty in their work to provide the best possible service.
The Staff Awards is a really joyful and uplifting event and we would be delighted if our members chose to share it with us. If you are planning to come along, it would be helpful if you could let us know so we have some idea of numbers. Just ring 01482 389200 or email contact.us@humber.nhs.uk.
If you need to get a taxi or need other help to get to the AMM, please ring Katie on 01482 389132.
In June 2011, during Learning Disability Awareness Week, we held an event that focussed on stamping out hate crime against people with learning disabilities. We joined forces with local partners Humberside Police, Mencap and the North Bank Forum to deliver the message that we would not tolerate hate crime and to explain how others can help put an end to it.
In September, 2011, we hosted an event on World Alzheimer's Day with the aim of raising awareness of dementia and what support mechanisms are in place locally. This event was supported by local authorities and the Hull and East Riding Alzheimer's Society.
Why not take a look at our events calendar to see if any of our services are holding events near you that you would like to get involved in.
