Improving Health and Wellbeing


The views of Trust members are represented by our Council of Governors.  We have 25 Governors which are made up of: 14 Public Governors; 6 for the East Riding of Yorkshire, 4 for Hull, one for the Yorkshire and Humber region, 2 Service User and Carer Governors and 1 Governor for Whitby.  There are also 6 Nominated Governors and 5 Staff Governors. More than half of the Council of Governors are elected by local people. Nominated Governors include representatives of local partnership organisations.

Governors give up their time voluntarily and do not ’run the Trust’. The Trust is run by the Board of Directors, but the Governors can influence their decisions and represent the views of our members.

The Council of Governors is chaired by our Trust Chairman, Sharon Mays and meets 4 times a year and also holds an Annual Members Meeting. The meetings are open to the public.
